Does the prospect of a work at home job interest you? If so, there are many options for people who want to work at home. Deciding what type of work you want to do is the first step towards your work at home career.
Many work at home jobs require you to report to an employer. Your employer might have you work a set schedule or have certain qualifications before you can begin. If that isn't an option for you, a home business might be a better step. Starting your own home businesses also have requirements. They might need an upfront fee or startup costs to begin. However, with this option, you are your own boss. Home businesses might take some time before you see returns, but work at home jobs also have financial pitfalls, as they are usually part-time or on an as needed basis.
You could also choose to become an independent contractor or freelancer. Independent contractors can choose to accept certain jobs. They also have more freedom to set their schedules whereas a company employee has the stability and benefits of being regular employee. However, company employees do not have the freedom to reject jobs they simply aren't interested in. There is a variety of work at home opportunities for both independent contractors and company employees. Choosing the best path is a personal matter.
You can narrow your search for work at home employment by realizing your skills and previous experience. Work at home opportunities includes areas such as customer service, freelance writing, data entry, telemarketing, typing, graphic design, web design, and transcription to name a few. Investigate these opportunities from both a freelance and a full time company employee perspective to get the best job outlook.
Many companies do not post their work at home jobs because they are flooded with applications from people who do not possess the skills for the job. Consider your work at home job search as you might any typical job search. Apply only for jobs that you are actually qualified to do. You might even apply for jobs that allow you to work at home on a part-time basis. Some employers are willing to extend part-time employment to a full-time basis after an initial trial period.
Be sure to begin your work at home endeavor with a goal. Set a plan for what you want to accomplish, and be informed about work at home opportunities by joining message boards or online communities. These are good place to meet with others who work at home and to find ideas and information. When you first begin looking for work at home opportunities, take small steps. Make a few phone calls, contact potential employers and send out resumes. Setting a small daily goal will help you feel like you are accomplishing something.
If you are attracted to the prospect of working at homeFree Web Content, follow these guidelines carefully. You may just end up with a job you love.

The Do's and Don'ts of Work at Home Business
The first and foremost amongst the Do's and Don'ts is - `DO' start to work at home & `DON'T GIVE UP'. I am not saying it because I myself work at home. On the contrary I am saying it because there was a time when I did not work at home! I know the difference. Period.
I was a normal office going, 9-5 rut -routine person, much against my likings and wishes. And as any other beginner I was fresh and enthusiastic when I joined a corporate career, put in 200% in everything that was assigned to me. But as time passed, I realized, I was not cut out for the job.
Forget commuting and following a discipline...it was the easiest to cope. What I disliked was the the chaos beyond. Not being able to relate to the corporate jargon, educated moves, politically correct reactions, aligning with lobbies... none of these were my way of looking at a long term career. So, my career merely became a job for me. The `ambitious' bird flew out of the window.
But then, I have always preferred to be `normal' than an `average' person. My definition of an `Average' person is "Someone who does what most people under similar circumstances would do, without questioning". And a `Normal' person according to me is "Someone who will do what she/he feels is right for him/her irrespective of what most people under similar circumstances would do or think"
So, I started looking out for the opportunity. And while surfing the net "Work at home business - found Me"! How much ever clichéd it may sound - I would like to say it anyway - I have found my calling. There is lot of money, conveniences and straight clean rules.
Coming to the basic Do's and Don'ts - Join work at home opportunity which has been around for a while & talk to the senior successful members. It should have 24X7 online supporort.Dont pay a fee to join work at home based business. Don't miss out on their rules and private policies.

Work or PLAY from Home?
Work From Home?
Type in the phrase "work from home" or "work at home" into any search engine and we all know what will happen. How many millions of ads on the internet use these words? It's what we all want, right?
Do we really want to work from home? I don't think so. What most of us really want to do is just STAY home. We want to PLAY at home. We enjoy sitting in front of our computer and PLAYING with it for hours! We don't want what we do at home to resemble what we do at work. If we really wanted to work from home...we might as well go to work! What would be the difference? A commute?
There's absolutely nothing wrong with this. This isn't an assault against the work ethic. It's just an honest look at our true motivations. Is it possible to flip the switch from playing at the computer for free to playing at the computer for money? YES! We use the same muscles, physical and mental. So what's the difference?
Focus. I must make a confession. I play games on my computer. Role Playing Games (rpgs), strategy games, even online poker. Last night I finished 2nd in an online poker tournament with 156 players (brag), it lasted 3 hours and 40 minutes! One of my favorite rpgs (Baldurs Gate ll) has an estimated completion time of 200-300 hours. (If I live long enough I'll finish). So is there a way to get that kind of focus on internet marketing? Can it be that much fun?
Yes to the first question, maybe to the second. To get laser focus in internet marketing, first we need to identify the activities that we're going to call "work". Unless you're a web designer or in some capacity work for an internet company, these activities fortunately are probably far removed from what most of us do at our jobs.
You need to learn to enjoy writing. Most of your "work" will involve writing. Writing articles, participating in forum discussions, writing and answering emails, helping solve peoples problems will involve email or telephone conversations. You will write ad copy for sales letters and websites, you'll write to your upline and downline, to affiliates and partners.
Yes you can take short cuts or short circuit this writing process. Most affiliate and networking programs have ready made everything to get you started quickly. You may be able to buy enough advertising to avoid active participation in the internet marketing community. Eventually if you're just cutting and pasting your way to riches it's going to start to feel a lot like WORK!
So how do we make a game out of this? Make it fun? First recognize that this is not work the way we normally define work. Work is where we're someplace we'd rather not be. We can be constantly under pressure and threat at work. We can fail at work, get fired, get yelled at, be embarrassed, disappointed, get demoted, dictated to, issued ultimatums, you get the idea. Compared to this "working" at home isn't really working at all, it's PLAYING! Where's the pressure coming from? From you? Do you have to succeed or else? And soon?
We need to make a game out of this internet marketing. It's easy to do because it really is a game. All these activities that we decide to identify as "work" should be more accurately identified as "play". In a computer game, I may be 200 hours away from saving the world, indeed I may never complete the main quest. However I will be thrilled with every monster I slay on the way. I'll reach into it's bloody carcass pull out the bag of gold and I'll laugh and say to myself, "Why is this Monster wearing pants? If I were a monster, I wouldn't wear pants!"
Secondly, we need the proper perspective. Sure we want residual income. We want financial freedom, be our own boss. But we need to get into the process. Make a habit of the internet marketing activities that we play every day. Master the process and the results take care of themselves. Learn to enjoy the process through practice and your computer "playing" will be more fun and it will be clear to everyone that you're enjoying yourself and they will want to be associated with you.
So yes we can learn to focus on playing at internet marketing. Can it be as much fun as slaying monsters or bluffing someones grandmother out of a big pot in no-limit holdem poker? I'm workin' on it! ;-)
